The Ayahuasca is a drink that is consumed entirely for religious and spiritual purposes. Hence, the environment in which you consume this matters a lot as it would directly impact your healing and growth process.

The Ayahuasca Retreat in Peru offers the most fantastic and comfortable experience to its customers who want to take a step forward in the journey of self-realization and spiritual progress.

Moreover, those who are caught in any sort of addiction for bad habits also prefer this method of healing and purification.

However, the process and rules which are kept in mind before and after the conduction of such rituals are strict and must be followed. Hence, let us take a look in detail at these ceremonies and rituals.

The First Step Towards Healing – Preparation Process

Before any person thinks of attending the rituals related to Ayahuasca they must have several things in mind. These things form the key basis of the journey ahead and make the person mentally prepared.

Some of these precautions to be observed are –

  • Not to consume alcohol.
  • Not to intake tobacco.
  • Not to indulge in sexual activity.
  • Not to eat non-veg.
  • Not to intake any caffeine-related product.

A person has to maintain these rules for several weeks before they come to the retreat or else, they might face some severe side effects.

Moreover, if you have some heart disease then you must not at all consume the Ayahuasca drink at home all by yourself. It is recommended for all to consume the drink under full professional guidance.

It is always suggested that one must spend his/her days before the retreat just meditating and giving full time to themselves.

Second Step in the Healing Process – The Ceremony

The ceremonies conducted for Ayahuasca are mostly held during the night-time. Sometimes they might also be held during the daytime. It completely varies.

In the ceremony, there are around 5-30 people who gather together in a circle with the healer in the center. The Changa Ritual is also held within the retreat which gives the people more reasons to go in such ceremonies.

The entire ceremony has a complete procedure. The procedure is –

  • Seating arrangements are made.
  • The Shaman blesses the place by entering.
  • Participants are handed over Ayahuasca.
  • The healer starts singing some chants.
  • The people start feeling the effect of the drink.

The entire experience of Ayahuasca might be felt by the people for around 4-6 hours. They experience vomiting which in one way is a type of cleansing of the body.

Changa Ritual  is nothing but just another form of Ayahuasca. The only difference is that Changa is smoked by the person into his/her body whereas Ayahuasca is drunk.
